JPHES was hired by Bay Electric to design two solar power systems in Charlottesville, VA that produce a combined total of 364 kilowatts of electricity at peak output. The University of Virginia (UVA) partnered with Dominion Energy to lease space for solar arrays atop of the Ruffner Hall and Bookstore buildings. The project allows Dominion to study the effects of solar energy production on the utility grid while UVA uses the system for student and faculty research. It’s also perfect for raising awareness about renewable energy.
