History:
Started in 1966, the Virginia Living Museum has been an educational and entertaining destination for tourists and locals alike. It is home to many exhibits featuring the local wildlife of Virginia as well as many hands-on exhibits to learn more about the nature all around the state.
In 2004 the museum underwent an extensive expansion to house new exhibits and extend their boardwalk and outdoor habitats.
Details:
Provide signed/sealed plumbing, mechanical and electrical drawings for the new expansion to the Virginia Living Museum. Our scope included studies, analysis, reports and construction administration. Extensive value engineering was provided to keep the overall project within budget and maintain the integrity of the engineered systems.
This was a Design Build project. During construction administration we provided separate write ups for conference logs, site visits and requests for information. The construction schedule was timed with site visits to keep future punch list items to a minimum. Extensive coordination with different native habitat exhibits was accomplished to provide the current lighting levels, humidity and temperature and still maintain the natural setting.
